Chatel is one of the 12 resorts that make up the Portes Du Soleil, the largest international linked ski area in the world. There are 650km of piste, 220 lifts and an endless number of fabulous slopeside restaurants and bars.

We invite all our guests to come out on the slopes with us when we can point you in the direction of pistes for all standards. Super Chatel, just 300m from the chalet, is the perfect area for beginners and families with plenty of gentle nursery slopes. From the Pre La Joux area you can launch straight into the heart of the Portes Du Soleil. Immediately you come to the off piste playground of Happy Valley or wind your way through the wooded Lindaret Valley to Avoriaz.

From there the off-piste playground of Happy Valley is just a lift away. Ride wind-lips, drop offs, powder fields and kickers – surely one of the most fun runs on the planet! Then wind your way through the wooded Lindaret Valley and up to Avoriaz.

Avoriaz offers freestyle riders and skiers one of the best snow parks in the Alps, and, opened in 2008, the Burton Stash. The Stash contains many hidden lines comprising of all natural hits, pillow lines, wall rides and cliff drops..you’ll be exploring it all day guaranteed.

For those who like to test themselves on steep moguls, the infamous Swiss Wall (or La Chavanette) is the place to go. With a length of 1km, a vertical drop of 331m and an initial inclination of 55 degrees it will challange all but the very best.
