There are many rock climbing routes around the chatel area, which
range from easy to expert. These are available for all to use but
you need to be a competent climber with own equipment.
A great alternative to free climbing is the Via Ferrata. A Via Ferrata
is a man made route up and over otherwise impassable rock faces.
These routes were used in World War 2 and before, mainly by Italian
forces for the transportation of men and equipment over mountain
passes.
Now a safe and extremely challenging form of mountain climbing -
just don't look down!
