Via Ferrata and Rock Climbing

There are many rock climbing routes around the chatel area, which range from easy to expert. These are available for all to use but you need to be a competent climber with own equipment.

A great alternative to free climbing is the Via Ferrata. A Via Ferrata is a man made route up and over otherwise impassable rock faces. These routes were used in World War 2 and before, mainly by Italian forces for the transportation of men and equipment over mountain passes.

Now a safe and extremely challenging form of mountain climbing - just don't look down!
