We
are located in prime mountain biking country. With chair lifts to
help you go up the possibilities are endless. Ride the length and
breadth of the Portes du Soleil and visit places unreachable in
the winter months when the snow is thick on the ground.
Cover many miles on a days ride enjoying cruising the mountain side
with the most spectacular views imaginable.
For novice off road cyclists there are many great confidence building
trails. There are routes round the back of local nature reserve
Mont de Grange, see the other side of the mountain which Chatel
faces and enjoy a picnic lunch en-route.
You can ride all the way to Morzine using mountain paths which take
you through the famous goat village of La Lindarets, passed the
Ardent waterfall and along to Lac Montriond. Then follow the river
all the way into bustling Morzine where you can enjoy a great lunch,
look round the shops then return home along more great tracks through
the forest.
For the dare devils there are steeper, faster and more technical
tracks and man made down hill courses all over the area. Super Chatel
has two purpose built downhill courses one 'blue' and one 'black'.
There are world cup courses in Morzine and Les Gets which host world
class competitions.
The Chatel MTB team has been hard at work creating and building
over 10 new biking trails at Pre la Joux. There is everything from
4X, to extreme downhill and the long awaited North Shore course.
The area is manned by qualified personnel and sponsored by Vario
bikes.
There is so much varied biking to do in the PDS that it is rated
as one of the best biking areas in the world!
