Châtel is a well-kept secret in the heart of the Portes du Soleil in the French Alps. Unspoiled by commercialism it has kept it's Savoyarde farming village charm, and with this local influence prices have stayed the most reasonable you are likely to find in a ski resort, giving fabulous value for money. Nestled at the top of the Vallee d'Abondance the views are spectacular wherever you are.

Bob Luge

Out and about in Châtel

Châtel boasts many traditional French restaurants, numerous bars many with live music and sun terraces, a wide variety of shops offering all your holiday needs, specialty souvenir shops and of course plenty of well equipped ski and alpine sports shops all within walking distance of the chalet. For those with a plentiful supply of energy there is a traditional bowling alley in the village, an outdoor ice-skating rink at Lac Vonnes and just over the boarder in Switzerland hot springs to relax aching muscles. At Pre la Joux you can have a go on the bob luge which is open all year round and a great thrill for all.

Après ski

We have designed our own map of the village with what we regard to be the best places to eat, drink, shop and have fun. You'll have no end of choice of where to spend your après ski time. Of course a comfy chair and good book, film or even pitting your wits against a friend at a board game is all you may require after a day out on the mountain - the choice is yours. We have a DVD player available for use in the chalet with a selection of films - if you have a favourite film you may wish to bring along to share with others please feel free.
