Chatel is a relatively small village that boasts a large variety of shops. It has a few general stores located in the village centre, including Petit Casino and Eco Marche which are shops similar to that of 'Spar' in England.

A 5 minute drive out of Chatel you will find Inter Marche a larger super market stocking everything from cheese, fruit and vegetables to beer and a good selection of wine.

Chatel has some lovely shops selling hand made and hand painted wooden goods that make perfect gifts and plenty of trinket type shops full of goodies. There is a very well equipped optician with a great selection of sunglasses and photographic shops selling all kinds of films and with a development service. There are also shops selling kitchen equipment, lingerie, specialist local cheeses and sausages, greetings cards, a hardware store and sweet shop. You'll find something for every one.

RUBIN SPORT - A local, family run shop with a large selection of skies, snowboards, boots and accessories.

GERMAINE SPORT - A locally run shop with a good selection of skiing and snowboarding equipment. They have a good selection of clothing.

MODE DE MONTAGNE - A lovely shop based in the Portes du Soleil, selling men's and women's clothing, mainly fleeces and a wonderful selection of baby and children's goods.

MIS EN GREEN - A unique shop selling original goods many with an alpine cow theme!
